Mindfulness been a growing movement for decades in North America and much longer in other parts of the world. We now talk about mindfulness in our everyday language; however, the meaning and definitions continue to be elusive. This 4 session series will be an opportunity to learn mindful practices and explore the fundamental components of what is meant by mindfulness and why the commitment to enhancing mindfulness is worthy of our attention.
Kirstin Bindseil, MSW, RSW has worked in mental health and addictions for 20 years. She has been a supervisor, educator and program planner in the field. She has been engaged in various innovative projects related to mindfulness meditation and has led mindfulness groups for chronic pain, depression, anxiety, smoking, older persons and addictions. Kirstin has formal training in mindfulness-based stress reduction (mbsr) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (mbct).
